Draping I is a 24 hour class that meets twice a week, 3 hours a day for 4 weeks.
This class is an introduction to the principles of the Draping technique to create clothing designs. In this course, students will learn how to use this method as a practical and creative way to make patterns for their designs created on a dress form, getting familiar with professional terminology, pattern shapes, their use, in order to turn their first DESIGN into a FINISHED GARMENT. This final project is a simple blazer or blouse. Sewing experience is required.
What is Draping? A practical and creative method to turn designs into patterns based on a dress form. What can you create with draping? Skirts, Shirts, T-shirts, dresses, jackets, pants and any garment you can think of.
PRE-REQUISITE: Garment Construction I or Garment Construction II
AGE REQUIREMENT: Teen to Adult
SUPPLIES ARE NOT INCLUDED: Supplies list will be shared and discussed with students the first day of class.
