Garment Construction I is an introductory course to the fundamentals skill and techniques needed to create a garment from pattern to completion. Students will become acquainted with the intricacies of the sewing machine as well as the variety of stitches and seams available to use and the discernment on when to use them. Instructors will also discuss the importance of/and demonstrate the art of hand stitching and button sewing. Through in course work, students will learn how to work with different types of clothing and fabrics, including a woven skirt, a pair of pants and a jersey t-shirt.

Please note, ASFD will be closed the week of November 23- 28th for Thanksgiving.
